BEST Homemade Salsa Ever

BEST Homemade Salsa Ever! 🌶🍅

This fresh, zesty, and flavorful salsa is so easy to make, you’ll never want store-bought again! Perfect for dipping, topping, or just eating by the spoonful (we won’t judge 😉). A true crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes with juice
  • 2 (10 oz) cans Rotel (diced tomatoes and green chilies)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 whole jalapeño, quartered and sliced thin
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (or more to taste)
  • Juice of 1/2 lime

Directions:

Step 1: Blend it Up

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine the whole tomatoes, Rotel, onion, jalapeño, garlic, sugar, salt, ground cumin, lime juice, and cilantro.
  2. Pulse until you reach your preferred texture. Keep it chunky with fewer pulses (10–15) or smooth it out with more pulses.

Step 2: Adjust and Perfect

  1. Test the salsa by dipping a tortilla chip into it.
  2. Adjust the salt, lime juice, or cilantro to suit your taste.

Step 3: Chill and Serve

  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour to let the flavors meld (trust us, it’s worth the wait!).
  2. Serve chilled with tortilla chips, over tacos, or with your favorite Mexican dishes.

Pro Tips:

  • Heat Level: Want more spice? Leave the seeds in the jalapeño or add an extra one.
  • Extra Freshness: Double up on cilantro or lime juice for a brighter flavor.
  • Customize: Add diced avocado, roasted corn, or black beans for a unique twist.

Storage:

  • Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days (if it lasts that long!).

Why You’ll Love It:

This salsa is the perfect mix of tangy, smoky, and spicy. It’s quick to whip up, endlessly customizable, and tastes even better than what you’d get at a restaurant. 🌟
