  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder (Knorr)

Directions

1. Cook the Chicken

  • Heat 2 tbsp of cooking oil in a 3-quart (10″) pan over medium-low heat.
  • Season the chicken drumsticks with salt, then cook in the pan, turning frequently, until the skin crispsโ€”about 7-8 minutes.
  • Remove the drumsticks from the pan and set aside. (The chicken will not be fully cooked yet.)

2. Toast the Fideo

  • In the same pan, add the remaining 2 tbsp of cooking oil.
  • Add the fideo noodles and toast over medium-low heat, stirring constantly to prevent burning, until they turn a light golden brownโ€”about 6-8 minutes.

3. Build the Broth

  • Stir in the warm water, tomato paste, garlic salt, and chicken bouillon powder (Knorr).
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring to ensure the tomato paste dissolves completely.

4. Combine Chicken and Broth

  • Return the chicken drumsticks to the pan.
  • Bring the soup back to a low simmer, cover, and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.

5. Rest and Serve

  • After simmering, turn off the heat and let the soup rest for 10-15 minutes.
