Why We Love Street Tacos

There’s something special about street tacos—they’re simple, packed with flavor, and perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re hosting a get-together, making a quick dinner, or packing a meal for later, these tacos never disappoint.

“My son had some friends coming over, so I made these. They were gone in minutes! The boys loved them, and I think they’d work great in lunches too!”

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs carne asada*
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cracked pepper
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 serrano pepper, sliced
  • ½ roma tomato, diced
  • ½ white onion, finely diced
  • 6-8 oz Dos Equis beer
  • 32 street taco tortillas
  • ½ cup white onion, diced, for garnish
  • ½ cup cilantro, roughly chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Meat: In a bowl, mix together cumin, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Coat the carne asada with the spice blend, then slice it into strips and dice. Place the meat in a large plastic bag or a covered bowl, and add the serrano pepper, diced tomato, diced onion, and beer. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes, up to 1 hour for more flavor.
  2. Cook the Meat: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the canola oil. Pour in the entire marinated mixture, cooking and stirring occasionally. Continue to cook until all the liquid has evaporated and the meat is thoroughly cooked, about 20 minutes.
  3. Serve: Place the carne asada on street taco-sized corn tortillas. Garnish with diced onion and chopped cilantro for a fresh touch.

Enjoy your delicious Street Tacos de Carne Asada! 🌮
